When I was an early teenager, every Wednesday during the summer was spent at the lake. Mom didn't drive, so Aunt Dorothy would pick us up. She didn't have children of her own, so really spoiled us. We would spend the whole day at the beach..your mom was just a tiny thing, and Aunt Molly was a baby. Aunt Dorothy always made a big, chocolate layer cake and mom made fried chicken. Any variance in the menu would not have been accepted. It's funny how the older we get, the sweeter the memories are. If only I had known at that tender age how precious these moments were, I would have paid more attention to them. I love this, Beccy.
