Da Papa- I didn't gawk at them. I drooled. Big difference, you know...

Aunt Vicki- I know it would require a space/time continuum rift to be able to tag along, but I so wish I could've been there for Aunt Dorothy's chocolate cake and Grandma's fried chicken. I get hungry thinking about it.

I love this, Beccy. When I was an early teenager, every Wednesday during the summer was spent at the lake. Mom didn't drive, so Aunt Dorothy would pick us up. She didn't have children of her own, so really spoiled us. We would spend the whole day at the beach..your mom was just a tiny thing, and Aunt Molly was a baby. Aunt Dorothy always made a big, chocolate layer cake and mom made fried chicken. Any variance in the menu would not have been accepted. It's funny how the older we get, the sweeter the memories are. If only I had known at that tender age how precious these moments were, I would have paid more attention to them.

Pamela- I don't know. I think Jessie would've thrown herself on the durian for me. She just wouldn't have eaten it... :-)

Melissa- I read a quote that said that eating durian is akin to eating sweet raspberry blancmange in a lavatory. Does that sway you either way?

I know a few people who like it, who were raised with it. But after everything I've heard, I really don't know if I would try it, adventurous as I am. You have my respect hehe.
